I’m just a storyteller, and the cinema happens to be my medium. I like it because it recreates life in movement, enlarges it, enhances it, distills it. For me, it’s far closer to the miraculous creation of life than, say, a painting or music or even literature. It’s not just an art form; it’s actually a new form of life, with its own rhythms, cadences, perspectives and transparencies. It’s my way of telling a story. -Federico Fellini
The Monster in this film does not physically resemble Mary Shelley’s character. It was make-up artist Jack P. Pierce who came up with innovations such as the Monster’s flat head, the bolts through the neck, the droopy eyelids, and the poorly-fitted suit.
Cillian Murphy auditioned for the role of Bruce Wayne.

The Velvet Underground.
Does anyone have a copy of Kristine McKenna’s 1984 interview with Brian Eno, in which he gives the famous quote about people buying Velvet Underground records and starting bands? It’s collected in her anthology Book of Changes, published by Fantagraphics, but I don’t have that—and I don’t know the exact date or where it originally ran.
